Katy, TX, US

Valeria is a sixteen-year-old environmental advocate and youth empowerment champion based in Katy, Texas. Growing up near the Rocky Mountains in Canada sparked her early love for nature, and learning about the anthropogenic threats to the environment inspired her to take action. She now uses her scientific, collaborative, and leadership abilities to advance sustainability, promote women in STEM, and enhance biodiversity restoration in her community. Valeria has organized a wide range of events and presentations on environmental conservation and has participated in numerous climate and ocean literacy workshops that have further sparked her passion for learning and advocacy. Through EarthEcho, she has truly found an inspiring community where she can embrace her passion for the environment and turn her ideas into real change. During her free time, Valeria enjoys playing piano, collecting seashells, and reading a good mystery book. As a third-year Water Challenge Ambassador and second-year Lead Water Challenge Ambassador for EarthEcho International, she hopes to utilize her passion for STEM and data analysis to protect and restore our ocean planet while exploring the essential connection between environmental and human health.
