Ali Lim

Quezon City, Philippines

Ali is a passionate climate and marine conservation advocate from Cagayan de Oro, Philippines who is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at Ateneo de Manila University. Though raised in an urban environment, a survival swimming class during her freshman year sparked an unexpected love for skin diving—and with it, a profound connection to the ocean and a growing commitment to protect it.

This transformative experience shaped how Ali approaches environmental advocacy: through systems thinking, empathy, and meaningful youth engagement. She currently serves as the Climate Justice Division Head in her university’s student council, where she leads efforts to promote green accounting among student organizations, co-develop a sustainability guidebook, and activate a nationwide network of student leaders to drive grassroots climate action. At the same time, she contributes to climate research and science-policy integration as an intern at the Klima Center.

Believing that stories can move people into action, Ali amplifies her advocacy through visual storytelling—crafting digital collages, curating content on social media, and bridging science with wider communities. She has presented water quality findings to local government, completed the Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training in Bacolod City, and represented Developing Nations in a global climate simulation workshop.

Her journey with EarthEcho International began with a single message of hope and collaboration. After helping bring the Youth Leadership Summit to the Philippines, she now steps into a bigger role. She is committed to making even greater waves as a Youth Leadership Council Member, and to building spaces where the youth can experience, connect with, and fight for the natural world.
