Senior Water Challenge Ambassador
Amelia Fortgang is 16 and attends Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco. She co-leads her school’s Environmental Club, addressing issues within the community like plastic pollution, water conservation, and reducing the student body’s overall carbon footprint. In September, she and the environmental club rallied a group of 80 students to join the other 7.6 million participants in the global school strike for climate. Last summer, Amelia volunteered at the California Academy of Sciences and San Francisco Zoo where she learned countless facts about hippos, blue morpho butterflies, and penguins among others, and how to effectively communicate science to the public. She is excited to continue her work with EarthEcho helping to protect the world around us!
