Amira Odeh
Water Challenge Ambassador Coordinator
Amira Odeh Quiñones is a Puerto Rican hydrologist, geographer, and environmental organizer whose work focuses on water resources, climate justice, and community resilience. Originally from Bayamón, she studied geography at the University of Puerto Rico and later pursued graduate studies in Chile on water resources, researching the impacts of climate change on Puerto Rico’s water availability and long-term sustainability.
Beyond her scientific work, Odeh Quiñones is an active organizer in environmental and climate movements. She advocates for renewable energy, climate justice, circular economy and community led solutions across the Caribbean. Her organizing often connects science with grassroots action. After Hurricane Maria, she helped lead initiatives such as reforestation efforts and community recovery projects, distributing fruit trees to thousands of families and promoting food security and resilience.
