Water Challenge Kit and Database Specialist
Alaina Dawson is an experienced wildlife biologist, project manager, and data scientist with a background in marine fisheries and environmental policy. After earning her B.S. in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island and her M.S. in Forest Resources and Conservation from the University of Florida, she spent the first decade of her professional career protecting and supporting public lands through various roles with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Her own career in environmental science began while interning for Save the Bay, a nonprofit whose vision is a fully swimmable, fishable, healthy Narragansett Bay (RI), accessible to all. She is excited to now be part of a team that empowers and supports the global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet.
Alaina grew up in Rhode Island and has a strong connection to the ocean and all things water. Her favorite place to be is on a boat or at the beach. Alaina currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband and dog and in her free time enjoys hiking, reading, and visiting local coffee shops.
