Tasnim Rahman is a first-year Honors student at the University of Michigan studying Economics. Growing up in Detroit, she has seen how environmental challenges affect communities differently, driving her interest in environmental advocacy and policy. Tasnim is involved in youth leadership and sustainability work through the Detroit River Scholars Youth Leadership Council, where she helps design programs that connect environmental education with community storytelling. She is also a Planet Blue Ambassador on campus and a fellow with the Michigan Community Climate Action Fellowship, working with organizations on climate challenges. As a Gen Sea Marine Plastics Ambassador, she hopes to raise awareness about plastic pollution and engage her community in protecting local water systems.
