Samhita Gattupalli

Youth Leadership Council Member

Samhita is a rising junior who is originally born and raised in Houston, Texas, but currently resides in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and attends Dhahran High School. Her passion for environmentalism stems from being able to travel and live in several different countries across the globe while realizing how important preserving nature is. Recently, Samhita was able to start MedDonate, an app business used to help combat over-the-counter medicine waste that is detrimental to the climate while redistributing these essential medicines to underprivileged communities. She hopes to officially launch this business near the weakening of the pandemic. Samhita also loves the field of social entrepreneurship and was able to co-found her company U-Turn through Quarter Zero, an entrepreneurship program for teens interested in business. Through this start-up, she was able to get advice from established investors and win the 1517 funds cash prize/best venture award while competing in a teen start-up competition in NYC. Additionally, in school, Samhita is part of her school's effect club and is the president of her school's Girls Learn International Chapter, where she organizes events in her community while promoting women activism and menstrual health education. She ultimately hopes to incorporate her interests in social entrepreneurship and technology/innovation to find viable methods for solving crucial sustainability problems in our world.
