Natalie Martinez is a 21-year old environmental advocate from Corpus Christi, TX and currently residing in San Antonio, TX. She is currently in her last semester of her Environmental Science degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio and is taking a gap year before attending graduate school for her Master's. She has been passionate about the environment ever since she took an Environmental Sustainability class in high school which inspired her to major in Environmental Science. During her time in university, she served as the president and social media manager for the Botany Club, leading a renovation and cleanup of the campus Pollinator Garden and educating students about the importance of native plants in the environment. She has also participated in several research projects at the university, such a projects in cretaceous sediments, urban forest ecology, and electric vehicle energy usage. All of her experience in the environmental science field has inspired her to join to Marine Plastic Ambassadors program to learn more about policy making and advocacy. She is passionate about bringing more environmental awareness and policy action to her hometown of Corpus Christi, TX. Outside of school, Natalie enjoys playing video games and crocheting. She is excited to meet new people and gain perspectives from people in different places!
