Michelle Li

Michelle Li is an 18-year-old environmental advocate from Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Daqing and raised in Shanghai, China, where dense city life fueled her appreciation for nature. When she moved to Ohio at the age of nine, her appreciation grew into a commitment to environmental protection. She is now a freshman at the University of Miami studying Marine Biology and Ecology with an interest in marine conservation and reducing single-use plastic pollution. In high school, she founded and led an environmental club focused on restarting the school’s recycling program, organizing educational events, and community cleanups. As an EarthEcho Youth Ambassador, she hopes to learn more about conservation policy and advocate for accessible reusable alternatives to single-use products, particularly at large events in Miami. Outside of environmental work, Michelle enjoys photography, exercising, and crafting. She is excited to collaborate with peers around the world to create meaningful environmental change.
