Maya Henson
Maya Henson is a 23 year old from Atlanta, Georgia, currently currently working as a NSF Funded RAMP Fellow at Georgia Southern University. Maya got into biology to investigate how humans impact the environments they rely on, especially marine ecosystems. She earned her bachelors degree of science in biology from Savannah State University in 2025, and is hoping to continue her studies in graduate school for 2026. Maya intends to make an impact as a Marine Plastics Ambassador by increasing awareness of plastic pollution and causes in her community. Maya plans on using interactive outreach games and tools to connect with communities to better inform them of what going on in their own backyards!
