My name is Maria but I typically go by Isa/Izzy, and I am a Developmental Biology student at Penn State pursuing a career in marine science and conservation. I grew up in several countries, including Bolivia and Japan, which sparked my love for the natural world and different ecosystems. I am beyond passionate about ocean conservation, marine biology, ethical tourism & scuba diving, and learning about the incredible species that call our planet’s waters home. I want to become a Water Challenge Ambassador because I believe protecting our waterways starts with education, community action, and inspiring others to make sustainable choices, and the first step is our local water sources. I hope to use this opportunity to raise awareness about water conservation and encourage others to become advocates for the health of our oceans and freshwater ecosystems.
