Khamiiah Alameda
Khamiiah is a passionate and active advocate for protecting her local ecological niches. Khamiiah Alameda currently attends the University of South Carolina Beaufort where she studies Biology with a concentration in Coastal Ecology and Conservation. There she’s active in the field by attending volunteer opportunities with SCDNR, The Nature Conservancy, and The Penn Center. She also works closely with professors participating in data collection for Terrapins and nesting shorebirds. Her passion for the environment was inspired early on, living on one of South Carolina’s Sea Islands. The abundance of protected lands, dense forests, and strong community inspired her to protect places such as those. She believes that she can advocate for the prosperity of these communities and ecosystems as a Blue Carbon Ambassador.
