Kayla Drakes
Kayla Drakes is a second-year sophomore at Brooklyn College who is passionate about entering the field of environmental education and animal care. Her journey into this field began through volunteering at the Queens Zoo, where she helped educate the public about wildlife conservation. This early experience sparked a deep appreciation for education in environmental advocacy. In addition, Kayla has a passion for animal photography. Through her photography, she aims to capture the beauty of animals, using her work as a way to raise awareness about wildlife. By connecting her research to enduring issues, she aims to make her research impactful. Whether she is volunteering or behind the camera, Kayla is driven by a commitment to protecting the natural world and inspiring others to appreciate it. She looks forward to continuing to grow in her field and collaborating with others who share her dedication to environmental advocacy and animal care.
