Julia Augustyn

Chicago, IL, US

I'm originally from Chicago, Illinois, but I recently graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, where I studied Earth and Environmental Science alongside Italian Studies. My connection to water conservation began in my childhood, where living and working on my family’s farm in Poland allowed me to learn that thriving vegetation depends on both hard work and reliable natural resources. I saw firsthand how climate change and drought threaten both ecosystems and livelihoods. This understanding has fueled my commitment to protecting water resources through research, education, and advocacy. Outside of my academic and professional work, I love traveling, learning new languages, and connecting with different cultures!
