Jenn Arca
Jennifer Arca is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, pursuing a B.S. in Microbiology through the Honors College with a minor in Public Health. Her passion for pollution remediation developed through high school, where her first research experience studied the effects of urban air pollution on chronic migraines. That curiosity has since grown into an undergraduate research focus and a first-author publication on how microbial communities can contribute to bioremediation strategies. Aspiring to become a physician, Jennifer is dedicated to bridging research and medicine to create a lasting community impact. As an EarthEcho youth Ambassador, she advocates for policy change and educates others on the human health effects of pollution. Outside of academics, she enjoys scrapbooking and creatively repurposing materials, reflecting her commitment to sustainability. Jennifer is excited to connect with and learn from ambassadors and mentors worldwide.
