Ismael Agosto Rivera is a undergraduate at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus, studying for a bachelors degree in chemical engeneering. He loves hiking, swimming, photography, exercise, and animals, especially birds. Having grown up in the west side of Puerto Rico, beaches and rivers have developed his apreciation and interest in the natural world. On the other hand, seeing these ecosystems shrink and become more frail over the course of his life has cemented the importance of their preservation. He hopes to take his career in a direction where he can use his knowledge to give natural ecosystems better cushioning against human impact, and educate the puertorican population to shape policies that will turn Puerto Rico into the greenest version of itself, and the most ecologically educated population in the world. A movement that he hopes will spread to the rest of the world.
