Gabriel is a first generation college student pursuing a degree in education with a focus on social studies. He is a proud citizen of the united houma nation and a member of the Bayou youth leadership non profit organization focusing on indigenous youth leadership and connecting youth with their cultural heritage. He is attempting to follow in his mother’s footsteps by advocating for environmental justice in any way he can. Gabriel is also deeply passionate about reducing environmental damage to our wetland ecosystems saving what his tribe knows as their ancestors. Through his goals of becoming an educator one day he hopes to teach an unfiltered and unbiased history.
