Emma Scott

Emma Scott is currently 18 years old and majoring in Marine Science at Florida Gulf Coast University. Throughout high school, Emma was involved in several environmental clubs, including STEM Coastal Explorers Club, Sustainability Club, and Women in STEM Club, and participated in events like beach clean-ups and restoration projects. In 2023, Emma attended a course at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and completed a research project on microplastics, which sparked her interest in this area. Emma has also spent over 200 hours as an Education Volunteer at Biscayne National Park, assisting with interpretive programs. In addition, this will be Emma's third year in the NOAA youth ambassador program, and started an ocean literacy account (@sea4.yourself). Emma plans to pursue a career in marine conservation and environmental education and hopes being an EarthEcho ambassador will teach her valuable skills to help her better advocate for the ocean and have a positive impact on her community.
