Ava Charman
Ava Charman is an undergraduate student at Yale University studying Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Environmental Policy. She is involved in environmental initiatives on campus and is interested in the role of global institutions in tackling climate and ocean issues
Following her undergraduate studies, Ava hopes to work at the intersection of ocean conservation, policy, and public engagement
As an EarthEcho 2026 Marine Plastics Ambassador, she is excited to work with other youth to raise awareness about plastic pollution and engage communities in sustainable practices. Her commitment to the ocean is personal; as an avid scuba diver, she has witnessed the devastating effects of climate change and coral bleaching firsthand. Through her work with EarthEcho, she hopes to inspire urgent action to protect these fragile ecosystems.
Outside of her studies, Ava enjoys hiking, journaling, traveling, and hammocking!
