Here is my description: Arya Kambhampati is a high school junior interested in environmental research, policy, and health initiatives. She discovered her deep interest in environmental science and conservation while researching biodiversity and the human impact on marine ecosystems through environmental DNA (eDNA). Arya has also conducted a marine debris tracking experiment, which highlighted the need for better infrastructure to prevent plastic pollution. As a NOAA Ocean Guardian Youth Ambassador and Junior Beach Captain for Clean Ocean Action, she has led community cleanups and educational initiatives to raise awareness about marine plastics. By joining this program, Arya hopes to connect her research experience with hands-on policy work.
