Alyssa Seckinger-Crow is an ocean leader and youth organiser known for designing and leading large-scale movements and communities that shift young people from apathy to action. Through science communication, ocean conservation and policy engagement, she empowers the next generation of leaders to protect Australia’s ocean future.

She is the founder of Young Ocean Innovators, an Australian initiative that has engaged more than 1,800 young people through youth ocean summits, hackathons and community events. The initiative has collaborated with 20+ environmental and scientific organisations and supported the launch of 20 youth-led ocean projects focused on marine stewardship and community impact.

Alyssa is also Founder and President of the Tasmanian Student Science Communicators Network, which engaged over 300 participants and 100 members within its first two months. Through workshops and public events, the network connects emerging communicators with leading scientists, fostering multi-generational learning and equipping students to communicate science clearly and accessibly.

In 2024, she served as National Coordinator and Promotions and Recruitment Lead for Rising Tide’s People’s Blockade, helping mobilise 7,000+ people across 15 hubs nationwide to campaign against coal expansion. A member of the Antarctic Youth Coalition Research Team, Alyssa currently studies Marine and Antarctic Governance at the University of Tasmania.

As Australia’s High Seas Ambassador, she is committed to bridging youth leadership and ocean policy, ensuring the High Seas Treaty becomes a catalyst for ambitious marine protection and meaningful youth participation in global ocean governance.
