Adélaïde Landrier is a recent graduate from McGill University, where she completed an Honours degree in International Development with a minor in Political Science. Her connection to ocean conservation began in 2022 during an internship on the island of Sainte-Marie in Madagascar, where she supported a humpback whale conservation program and the eco-touristic development of the local community. This experience was a turning point that sparked her dedication to protecting the ocean and raising awareness of its critical yet overlooked role.
Since then, Adélaïde has focused her academic research on marine issues such as European overfishing in West African waters, BBNJ negotiations, and blue economy strategies. In 2024, she interned with the NGO Oceanic Global, contributing to the organization of the UN World Oceans Day and various international beach clean-ups initiatives. Equipped with field research experience in East Africa and a background in ocean communications, she is now eager to continue working for ocean advocacy with a focus on African and European coastal communities. She hopes to contribute to expanding marine protected areas, ending harmful fishing practices, and advancing sustainable ocean governance through impactful outreach and policy change.
