EarthEcho International Welcomes New Cohort of U.S. Ocean Protection Ambassadors

Washington, DC (November 24, 2025) EarthEcho International today announced the addition of our 2025 cohort of U.S. Ocean Protection Ambassadors. Co-founded by Philippe Cousteau, Jr., EarthEcho is a global nonprofit dedicated to building a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet. Through the U.S. Ocean Protection Ambassador Program, six outstanding young ocean advocates (ages 17-22) gain unique training, resources, and mentorship to drive campaigns to strengthen and advance marine protected areas in the United States, while defending existing ocean protections.

By designing mobilization strategies, building grassroots support, and directly engaging with government leaders, Ambassadors emerge as influential voices for ocean protection in their communities. These young leaders stand at the forefront of EarthEcho's commitment to the global 30x30 goal, to achieve meaningful protection of at least 30% of the ocean by 2030 while cultivating a resilient conservation movement capable of driving transformative change for our ocean's future.

“The next generation of changemakers is ready to lead the way to achieve a healthier, more resilient ocean,” said Philippe Cousteau Jr., international founder of EarthEcho International. “EarthEcho’s newest cohort of U.S. Ocean Protection Ambassadors will be on the frontlines working to mobilize communities across the country to advance marine protected areas and transform the future.”

The U.S. Ocean Protection Ambassador Program is made possible through the generous support of the Packard Foundation, as well as programmatic support from the National Ocean Protection Coalition, and regional partners at the Conservation Law Foundation, NRDC, the Papahānaumokuākea Coalition, and the Wildlife Conservation Society for their support of our Ambassadors’ campaign work
