EarthEcho Attends Our Ocean Kenya

EarthEcho International is proud to join the global ocean community at the 2026 Our Ocean Conference in Mombasa, Kenya from June 14–19, uniting to advance ambitious solutions to the challenges facing our ocean planet. As the first Our Ocean Conference hosted on the African continent, this year's gathering represents a landmark opportunity to elevate African leadership, strengthen international partnerships, and accelerate action toward protecting and restoring our ocean planet. Guided by the theme "Our Ocean, Our Heritage, Our Future," the Conference will focus on themes including advancing marine protection, sustainable blue economies, and youth leadership while highlighting the rich coastal cultures and ecosystems of East Africa.

EarthEcho’s High Seas Youth Ambassadors, Autone Mululuma from Zanbia and Okello Allan Mugisha from Uganda, will join Executive Director, Rosemary Trent, and Director of Youth Engagement, Sean Russell, as EarthEcho’s delegation on the ground at the event. Together, they will engage with partners, policymakers, and youth leaders to champion the critical role young people play in advancing ocean protection and ensuring that the next generation has a meaningful voice in shaping ocean governance.

As we prepare for the Conference, EarthEcho celebrates the impact of our previous Our Ocean Conference commitments, and is proud to come to Mombasa with a commitment to grow the impact of our Ocean Protection Ambassador work mobilizing youth leaders to help achieve the global 30x30 ocean goal.

Throughout our time in Mombasa we look forward to collaborating with our partners on several key events focused on advancing the 30x30 ocean goal, accelerating implementation of the High Seas Treaty, and the role of intergenerational collaboration in building momentum for ambitious ocean action.
