This day is a very special day to me because of all the amazing work I have been able to be a part of and my ability to contribute to helping designate one of our very own National Marine Sanctuaries in New York. World Water Monitoring Day is a global initiative to bring awareness to the importance of checking your water quality and encouraging people to take action to protect watershed health.
Traveling across the country, from New York City to Seattle, to meet young ocean advocates from all over the world was something that I couldn’t even have dreamed of before I joined EarthEcho. In March 2024, I was selected to be a Marine Plastics Ambassador which allowed me to plan and implement a plastic reduction project in the Great Lakes.
