Steve Kalish was a former executive at Xylem Inc.(NYSE: XYL), a leading global water technology company committed to developing innovative technology solutions to the world’s water challenges. Steve’s 33-year career with Xylem and its predecessor, ITT Corporation, included roles in Program Management, Corporate Strategy, and Leadership Development. Xylem is a long-term corporate sponsor of the EarthEcho Water Challenge program.
Steve’s passions include leadership development and water education. He introduced and has led EarthEcho Water Challenge events for 100 elementary school children in his hometown every year since 2009. He was an elected member and Vice President of the Westwood Regional School District Board of Education in northern NJ; he sponsors the annual Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award at five northern New Jersey high schools; and he serves on the Board of the West Point Society of the Mid-Hudson Region. Steve is also the lead admissions representative for West Point in Congressman Gottheimer’s district (NJ-5). Steve was elected to the EarthEcho Board of Directors in February 2017 and is currently its Vice Chairperson.
Steve graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served 5 years on active duty in the U.S. Army and 14 years in the Army Reserves. Steve and his wife, Grace have four children and live in northern New Jersey.
