Ona Àvila

EarthEcho Water Challenge Ambassador

Barcelona, Spain

Ona is currently studying Biology at the University. She has always been amazed by the importance of nature, which is why, since she was little, she wanted to study biology to find out how to protect it. She speaks fluently in Catalan, Spanish, English and she has been studying Chinese since she was eight years old. During her second year of high school along with her two partners, they carried out a research project. This research was about the possibility that hydroponic crops could somehow purify water coming from washing machines. In 2021, this project led them to the national final of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize and they became one of the three finalists projects. In her free time, she loves hanging out with her friends, playing video games, listening to all types of music and watching tv series. She is excited to work with other EarthEcho Water Challenge Ambassadors and make a change.
