Mary Meyer


Mary Meyer serves as EarthEcho International's Curriculum and Professional Development Director where she creates ocean and environmental education resources for formal teaching and informal, self-directed learning by youth.

Prior to joining EarthEcho International, Mary worked as a consultant for the UNC Institute for the Environment where she led a professional development program for elementary school teachers aimed at getting their students outside. She also wrote climate change curriculum for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and was a contracted Instructional Designer, creating engaging and interactive online environmental education workshops.

Mary is a Certified Interpretive Trainer (CIT) through the National Association for Interpretation (NAI) as well as a facilitator for Project Learning Tree, Project WET, and Don't Waste It! workshops. She is also active in the Environmental Educators of North Carolina (EENC) where she received EENC’s Outstanding Newcomer Award in 2020.

In her free time Mary is an amateur boxer and can be found at the gym sparring men and women alike, jumping rope, and punching heavy bags.
