Leila Avery
Leila Avery is a senior at Loyola University New Orleans studying Environmental Science with concentration in Marine Biology. Born and raised in the Baltimore, Maryland/DC area, protecting Chesapeake Bay has been a passion of hers. Leila focuses on protecting and restoring oyster populations in the Chesapeake Bay, Gulf of Mexico, and Puget Sound watersheds. She is passionate about educating and creating resources for students and the general public that spark conversations of how to protect our watersheds and estuaries. Leila also likes to create entomology art and other scientific displays for use in the classroom and household decor. She is excited to be apart of the team at EarthEcho, and hopes she can educate more people about water quality as it is essential to life on Earth!
