Santa Clarita, CA
Ariann Landaverde grew up between the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valley, where her passion for advocating and educating about environmental protection, justice, conservation, and awareness was cultivated. Ariann volunteered at the West Hollywood Preschool during the summers as a gardening volunteer, where she was able to nourish the minds and help instill a love for the environment in the preschoolers. Additionally, she was a part of the Santa Monica Heal the Bay aquarium community outreach volunteer program where she was able to spread awareness about ocean conservation and teach about marine animals that live off the California coast to visitors of all ages. This experience was crucial in fostering her love for marine life and desire to push for ocean conservation.
Currently, Ariann is entering her junior year at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she is studying Environmental Management and Protection with minors in Biology and Spanish. Ariann takes part in many campus organizations, such as Sigma Omega Nu, a Latina Interest Sorority, and Sprout Up, for which she is a board member. Sprout Up aims to educate about the importance of our environment to elementary school students. Ariann aims to show the value of education and exploration of our planet.
Ariann is extremely passionate about advocating for environmental justice, along with other conservation efforts. She can not wait to spread her own knowledge and continue learning with the incredible individuals who make up the EarthEcho International Youth Council.
