Mexico City

Karen is 19 years old and a resident of Mexico City. In 2018, she went to the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) to complete her bachelor's degree. Later in 2021, she joined the Environmental Engineering career field at the Faculty of Engineering of the UNAM where she is currently studying. In 2022 she joined the Society of Environmental Engineers of the Faculty of Engineering (SIAFI), serving as a secretary. At a young age, she had interests in nature, concerns for climate change, and the conservation of ecosystems. During the pandemic, she participated in the project "Save the Lerma River" by collecting eggshells to use in a project to remove heavy metals from the river. She also likes spending quality time with her loved ones and listening to music is her favorite hobby.
