Mary Peterson
Patterson, LA
was inspired to make my green change as I noticed the growing waste lands that were once the wet lands. As I grew up, my mother taught me to appreciate nature and to let nature be, with as little interference as possible.
I am definitely one to re-use things, sometimes something as simple as re-using my water glass or sometimes wearing my favorite pair of jeans just one more time before washing. (We have all done that at some point!)
Recycling is also a plus, which greatly reduces the amount of trash that is dumped into our environment. This green behavior seems to be a growing trend, especially into the smaller towns in the area I grew up. It's pleasing to see the local businesses contributing by placing recycling bins in the parking lots for easy drop off.
In addition to my green benefits, my next car will be a hybrid. Hopefully one day we will all go back to the electric car, which serioiusly cuts down on the pounds of CO2 emitted into the air.
Everything I do makes a difference.
This is my EarthEcho.
