Project LIVE

Project LIVE

EarthEcho International's Project LIVE layers outreach programming over large gatherings that bring thousands of people together with a common interest, and extends action-oriented support beyond these events using digital media resource sharing. Project LIVE works with event programmers to engage their audiences to make a difference through empowering messages, tools, and resources that support positive environmental action affecting the world's oceans and freshwater systems.

VANS Warped Tour

In 2008, EarthEcho International's Project LIVE will work with the VANS Warped Tour. Every year, over 600,000 fans flock to over 50 stadium and parking lots sites nationwide to hear their favorite up-and-coming punk rock bands perform at the VANS Warped Tour. Not only is it the longest-running (14 years, baby!) and most successful touring punk-rock/skate/action sports festival of its kind domestically, it also has a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. The tour buses are powered by biodiesel, the traveling kitchen serves food on reusable or compostable plates, and bands perform on a stage powered entirely by solar energy.

EarthEcho International is proud to be working with the VANS Warped Tour's Warped Eco Initiatives to highlight their environmentally-friendly practices and to translate these into actions that the Tour's audience can easily adopt. By engaging bands and sponsors to provide on-site opportunities for direct action, EarthEcho International is helping VANS Warped Tour to become a gateway to reusing, renewing, and recycling. But the positive impact doesn't end when the music does. We're also using new web applications to leverage this common experience into a nationwide campaign of community action. CHECK IT OUT!
