Under One Thousand Waves

At EarthEcho, we are grateful everyday for the creative communicators who have chosen to use their talents to tell the stories of how human life intertwines with the health and beauty of our ocean planet. It is our great honor to recognize and support one such outstanding creative professional annually through the EarthEcho Fellowship. Congratulations to photographer and documentary filmmaker Keith Ellenbogen, EarthEcho’s 2006-2007 Fellow. We will feature Keith’s work and share the story of a year in his creative journey as it unfolds.

Beginning in September, Keith will be traveling throughout Malaysia to shoot footage for a landmark interactive documentary on this nation’s stunning but threatened coral reefs. Keith has been awarded a U.S. Fulbright Fellowship to conduct this project, titled Under One Thousand Waves, and will be aided in sharing his vision with various audiences thanks to additional support from the Universiti of Sains Malaysia, Center for Marine and Coastal Studies; Parsons School of Design (Design and Technology Department and Photography Department); and Harvard University. Follow Keith’s adventures online through his EarthEcho Media Expedition: Under One Thousand Waves Web page, where you will find rotating galleries, blogs, and other media that invite us all into the process of making art that tells a complex story of life.
