Slings and Arrows
Well, yet again live science has succumbed to outrageous fortune. We were all prepped and ready to bring live science to schools all along the East Coast and Tropical Storm Katrina put a slight damper on our plans, in fact you might say we got washed out. However, we bounced back and managed to hatch a "plan B" and, more importantly, follow through with it. This morning, we broadcast our first live show from the Aquarius Watch Desk to schools in Florida, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia and, of course, some of you may have watched it from the comfort of your homes or cubicles.
I have to say we have had a lot of fun putting this program together. It is a pilot of our commitment to exciting and inspiring learning. Indeed, with all the budget cuts and focus on standardized testing that is going on in our country today, there is a real need for this kind of interesting, inquiry-based programming. Anything that gets people excited about the world they live in is vital because, believe me, all the standardized testing in the world won't.
