EarthEcho is so excited about the excellent youth video submissions for Seventh Generation Foundation’s Campaign for a Toxin-Free Generation and we know there are more coming very soon. We want to feature as many young people making “Toxin-Free” choices as possible, though, so we have extended the contest deadline until May 31, 2013. In continuing to provide support for teachers and young people, we wanted to again share the link to the Defend Your Drain webinar which explores what is going down our drains, the impacts these chemicals have on aquatic systems, and suggestions for how young people can reduce their impact. Sean Russell, Stow It-Don’t Throw It
Sean Russell is the Project Director for the Stow It-Don’t Throw It Project, a youth-driven marine debris prevention and ocean conservation initiative dedicated to protecting marine environments and their inhabitants. In 2012 alone, Stow It-Don’t Throw It assembled and distributed 2,565 personal-sized monofilament fishing line recycling containers, made from repurposed tennis ball containers, activating 550 youth volunteers in the process.
