Africa- Entry 11
Not much to report today other than a good and well-deserved day off was enjoyed by all. We went to Pemba Island which is the other half of the Zanzibar semi-autonomous region. Everyone went about their own business and let off a little steam; Paul went for a run, a bunch of us stayed by the pool with cold beers while others read, went swimming in the ocean, went sailing on traditional boats or hiking in the forest.
That is was what makes this group so great; everyone has such diverse interests and brings so many incredible perspectives and experiences. There is a real commitment to the show and to each other and everybody comes together. This of course, is total luck because there is no way of knowing that this will happen until after everyone put it together. But even after all these trips and long weeks together, everyone is still going strong. I must give a lot of credit to the producers, this is not an easy thing to do and they have done a great job by keeping it all running smoothly.
I must say, I feel very lucky to be a part of this whole adventure.
