5 In the Field: Malaysia
From tropical rainforests to the coral reefs, Malaysia has some of the most important and delicate ecosystems on earth. One of our goals is to connect the 10,000 miles that separate cultures and environments between the United States and Malaysia.
Malaysia is located just to the just north of the equator, and consists of Peninsular Malaysia bordering Thailand to the North and Singapore to the South. Separated by the South China Sea East Malaysia’s states of Sabah and Sarawak lie on the north one-third portion of Borneo bordering Indonesia.

Language: The official language is Bahasa Malaysia (Malay) but English is the language of business
