At the NGNS in Putrajaya Malaysia I presented “Crossing Oceans: Using Internet2/MYREN to enhance education, the environment, technology and artistic expression.

During my presentation, I debuted my underwater video documentary (work in progress) streaming over the next generation internet (Internet2/MYREN) at 8 Mbps. Additionally, I highlighted our first video conference streaming over the Internet2/MYREN network conecting students and faculty at Parsons School of Design and University of Sains Malaysia.

I will miss life above and below the islands of Mabul and Sipadan. Each day I went diving I experienced something new….and was constantly inspired. If you asked me to create unusual fish I would come up with a number of creative solutions. But it is mind boggling to me how many different and unusual fish there are, each specializing in their own way on how to eat other fish…while at the same time not being eaten. I could just stay there all day!!!!!!

Illuminating Skies

One day something I can not explain happened to the color of the skies. I think there was a magical moment between rays of the sun and the clouds. For about thirty minutes the sky was illuminated by this magical orange and deep red color that I had never seen before.
