Women’s Health

Alexandra and Philippe at Women's HealthI spend a lot of time browsing the racks of magazines in airports, and have noticed that almost every publication has come out with some sort of “green issue” over the past year. Alexandra and I wondered why no one was talking about the many issues surrounding water. In other words, what about the “blue issue?” So we started sharing this idea with a couple of people and were psyched when Women’s Health decided to name the November issue the BLUE ISSUE. My sister and I were honored to serve as guest editors on the BLUE ISSUE, which takes an in-depth look at water and the important role it plays in our everyday lives. From easy ways to conserve water to a guide to buying eco-friendly fish to the pros and cons of bottled water, Women’s Health takes a deep dive into H20-related issues and offers ways to conserve and protect the planet’s greatest natural resource.

In addition to the print initiative, Women’s Health’s website www.womenshealthmag.com will go blue, featuring a “Go Blue” channel on the navigation bar that will link to a dedicated section with video and photographs of the expedition that we took to find the elusive whale-shark. Plus, Alexandra and I offer advice for keeping the planet’s water clean while encouraging visitors to submit their own conservation tips for a chance to win a chance to go on expedition with us in 2008.

The issue hits the stands today — be sure to pick up a copy. And let us know what you think!
