Vision
A world in which collective individual responsibility allows our water planet to thrive in dynamic natural balance for countless generations.
Mission
To foster extraordinary leaders to take action to restore and protect our oceans.
Values
- We believe that all life on Earth is precious and has intrinsic value;
- We believe that the value of life is not defined by its utility for human civilizations;
- We believe that ocean and fresh water systems are the life support of the Earth;
- We believe that all humans live "upstream" from the oceans and from one another;
- We believe that all social justice, economic, and human health issues are at their core environmental issues, because healthy ecosystems and productive societies require that life on earth exist in dynamic natural balance;
- We believe that everything we do makes a difference, and that in our consumer-driven society all of our choices have consequences and we must change how we live to ensure the future of life;
- We believe that story is a language of learning and that well-told and well-crafted stories can inspire individuals to make positive choices in their daily lives;
- We believe that in our new media world, community is no longer defined solely by geography;
- We believe in the power of interactive media—that individuals have an unprecedented opportunity to be part of the social and environmental dialogue in an active and empowering way;
- We believe that providing people with stories, experiences, and resources can empower them to take action to change the world.
